La Nostra Storia
Four generations of Italian tradition and love
Our Beginning
In 1940, Maria Rossi opened a small trattoria in the heart of Tuscany with nothing but a handful of family recipes and an unwavering passion for authentic Italian cuisine. What started as a modest establishment serving the local community quickly became renowned throughout the region for its exceptional food and warm hospitality.
Nonna Maria's philosophy was simple: use only the finest ingredients, prepare everything from scratch, and treat every guest like family. This philosophy became the foundation upon which our restaurant continues to operate today.
The Family Legacy
Maria Rossi (1940-1975)
Founded the original trattoria in Tuscany. Known for her legendary ragu that simmered for 6 hours and her famous handmade gnocchi.
Giuseppe Rossi (1975-2000)
Maria's son who expanded the restaurant and introduced the wood-fired pizza oven. He immigrated to Boston in 1985, bringing the family recipes to America.
Antonio Rossi (2000-2020)
Giuseppe's son who modernized the restaurant while preserving traditional cooking methods. Added the wine program featuring selections from family vineyards.
Sofia & Marco Rossi (2020-Present)
Antonio's children who now run the restaurant together, bringing fresh energy while honoring every family tradition and recipe.
Our Philosophy
At Nonna's Kitchen, we believe that food is more than sustenance—it's a way to bring people together, create memories, and share love. Every dish we serve carries with it the stories, traditions, and passion of four generations of the Rossi family.
We source our ingredients from the same suppliers our family has trusted for decades. Our pasta is made fresh daily using the same techniques Nonna Maria taught her children. Our wood-fired oven burns the same type of wood from the hills of Tuscany.
When you dine with us, you're not just our customer—you're part of our extended family.
